Allotments
Did you know there are 37 allotment sites for Waltham Forest residents, 27 directly or co-managed by LBWF, 6 leased by LBWF and 4 private.
We would like to interview plotholders, ideally with a spread across the Borough, and different experiences and backgrounds. With a view to recording memories of people having allotments, some ideas of why people have them, what is grown, how they are managed and what changes have taken place over the years.
So if you have or used to have a plot, are or were involved in the management of allotments we would very much like to hear from you.

Here’s a map of the allotments of Waltham Forest – this includes private and charity allotments as well as those leased or managed by Waltham Forest Council – you can open the map in full-screen [button top right of the header section] and zoom in and out for detail. You can print the map – and, as we develop the oral history project, individual entries will include snippets of history.
